Travelling to Amsterdam
The airport closest to Amsterdam is Schiphol Airport. The fastest way to get to Amsterdam Central Station – and the city centre – is by train (15 minutes). More information about train travel in the Netherlands can be found the NS website or use this door-to-door travel planner (both in English).

Accommodation
Amsterdam also offers a lot of amazing hotels and hostels located in and around the city centre, see for example hotels.com and booking.com. You could also rent via Airbnb, and spend a night on a houseboat or in a canal house, for instance. If you are travelling to Amsterdam on a shoestring, your cheapest option is to couch surf during your stay.
Getting around Amsterdam
By foot
Walking distances to the festival’s venues vary. From Amsterdam Centraal station, it takes a ten-minute walk to reach Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ and De Brakke Grond, and a fifteen-minute walk to Arti et Amicitiae. Reaching Paradiso and Stedelijk Museum takes about half an hour by foot.
By bike
The most efficient way of transportation is by bike, like the locals. Information about bike rental companies can be found here.
Public transport
For travelling by public transportation you can buy an OV-chip card at Central Station. With this card you must check in and check out when boarding or disembarking from a tram, bus, or metro. You can also purchase a disposable card for one hour (€3,20), for a single day (€8) or for multiple days (3 days for €19).
